Wake services began Wednesday at the YST Community Center Gym in the South Housing in Wagner. Funeral services were 10:30 AM, Friday at the Gym. Burial was in the Hill Church Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Wagner. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
 
  Bernadette Joy Patterson was born in Wagner, SD on June 4, 1978 to Lawrence Oliver Gray and Gertrude “Ida” McBride. She died Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at her home in Sioux Falls. Dette married Mark Patterson and had four children: William, Rhonda, Crystal and Susan.
  Bernadette was employed at many places throughout her life. She retired recently after enjoying employment through NICOA at the Native American Center in Sioux Falls. After she retired, she stayed home and enjoyed her hobbies of bingo, shopping, and traveling with friends.
  She was devoted to being with her grandchildren. She was a very loving and caring woman. Everyone knew her for her kindness and generosity. She had an open spot in her home and at her dinner table for anyone that needed help.
  She was preceded in death by her parents, her young daughter Crystal (age 9), sisters: Bernadine Provost, Hildegard “Rita” Gray, Beatrice “Pin” Boetcher; brother John Gray; husband Mark Patterson and her significant other Albert Tweedy.
  She leaves to mourn her children Rhonda, Susan and Bill Patterson; her sister Stephanie Cournoyer; grandchildren: Liz, Waylon, Spencer, Sage, Kara, Austin Kampeska, Steven and Vance Patterson and many more grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.
  She will be greatly missed by everyone. We are grateful to have had her in our lives for the time we did; she is one of a kind and had an amazing life.
