MADISON, S.D., Aug. 6, 2025 – Dakota State University student Chelsey Moad is student teaching special education for the fall semester in the Andes Central School District. Moad is an elementary education and special education major from Wagner, South Dakota.

With the start of the new school the library is looking to develop programs which encourage reading at all ages.

The Wagner American Legion Auxiliary kicked off its 2025-2026 community service year with its inaugural event on Tuesday, August 5.

With the beginning of school, Moms in Prayer will be starting up again. This is a Christ centered prayer ministry made of of Moms and other interested ladies desiring to pray for the students and the school. The organization was started over 30 years ago by Fern Nichols.

Avon community members showed up in a big way this July, turning compassion into action at the most recent Avon Community Blood Drive. Thanks to their generosity, 20 units of blood were collected from 16 donors - enough to help up to 60 patients at local hospitals.
