Greer Unit #11, American Legion Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on April 17 at the Post Home with 14 members present. The meeting was called to order by President Alyssa Mathis. Chaplain Margie Stone read the opening prayer.

The 4-H shooting kids will be heading to Pierre/Ft. Pierre, April 25-27, to compete at the annual 4-H Spring State Shooting Competition. Participants qualify at a beginner, junior, or senior level, amongst their practiced disciplines.

Wagner Rotarians were greeted at the entryway to the meeting room with the Choteau Creek Brewing Company serving them a delicious meal of three different salads, chicken and pulled pork and two cheesecakes! We were not disappointed! It was a delicious meal!

Hours for the Easter Holiday are as follows: Library will be closed Friday, April 18th. Library will be taking part in the Easter Carnival that will take place in the Back Gym at 400 School Street. Hours for the Carnival are 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Carter Smejkal One of this week’s featured WCS seniors is Carter Smejkal. Carter is the son of Shawn and Donna Smejkal.

The mayoral election was held for the City of Wagner on April 8 where Alyssa Mathis emerged victorious over Tammy Thornton, securing 83 votes to Thornton’s 66. The election saw a total of 149 votes cast, reflecting a significant turnout for the city.

At the April 8 city council meeting, one of the first topics to come before the council was the list of notices involving property maintenance concerns and actions. The city’s code enforcer, Joel Johnson, presented the board with an updated list of properties that were not in compliance.
