Wednesday, January 14, President Jamie Soukup arrived at the Rotary building with the luncheon from Valley Pump and Rotarians got right to work eating a meal of salad, soup, and roast beef.

A total of 395 students at Mitchell Technical College have been placed on the Fall Semester 2025 President’s List, according to MTC President Theresa Kriese. To be named to the list, students must earn a term GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.

The Wagner Rotary club held a weekly meeting on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. President Jamie Soukup called the meeting to order with a rap on the Rotary bell. Soukup lead our prayer for the meal and our fellowship.

On January 10, 2026, the Aurora Douglas Republican Women hosted the District 21 Legislators: Rep. Marty Overweg, Rep. Jim Halverson, and Sen. Mykala Voita for an informational session regarding the upcoming 2026 South Dakota Legislative session at 44 Pizza+ in Platte, SD.

From the Files of the Avon Clarion 10 YEARS AGO Snow fall greeted the first week of the year before the temperatures are going to drop with expected highs in the single digits. Justin Boyle and Jacob Ratzlaff enjoyed the snow as they dug a tunnel this past week.
