A devastating storm moved through the Pickstown area on Tuesday, Sept. 1, bringing baseball-size hail that left extensive damage behind. Homes throughout the area were hit hard, with shattered windows and doors along with damaged siding. Vehicles were also damaged by the large hail. The storm also took a toll on area crops. Several corn and soybean fields were left heavily damaged, with the hail stripping leaves from the plants and leaving stalks standing in its wake.
