Brian, Ray, and Doug Johanneson were busy in the wheat fields near Lake Andes last week. Wheat yields around the area have ranged from 20 to 60 bushels per acre this season, with many producers choosing to bale their wheat because of the dry conditions.

Each Tuesday from 4:30 to 7 p.m., the corner of 3rd Avenue and Main Street comes alive as the Lake Andes Farmer's Market welcomes shoppers for an evening of fresh food, local vendors, and community fun.
