Dorothy Marie Wiebenga (79) passed away peacefully at Avera Hospital with complications from pneumonia on February 17. Visitation was on Sunday, February 20 in the Reformed Church, Dell Rapids. A family inurnment will take place at a later date.

Funeral services for Tytan James Larvie, age 2, were Monday, February 21, 2022 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements. Tytan James Larvie was born in Yankton, to Calarina Drapeaux and Tyler Larvie on September 13, 2019.

Darrell Powers, Sr., 86, of Wagner, passed away on February 11, 2022, at the Correctionville Specialty Care Nursing Home in Correctionville, IA. Darrell was born into the Yankton Sioux Tribe in Pine Ridge, SD to Guy “Jack” Powers and Lydia Feather-Kelder on July 5, 1935.

Funeral services for Maggie White Hawk were Wednesday, February 9, at the Cedar Presbyterian Church, rural Lake Andes. Peters Funeral home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements. Margaret “Maggie” White Hawk had her sunrise on the Rosebud, from the Sicagu Nation on December 19, 1957.

Funeral Mass for Rebecca Kokesh was Friday, February 11 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial was in the parish cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements. Rebecca A. Kokesh was born January 28, 1985 in Wagner, the daughter of Michael J. Jr.

Funeral Mass for Ernest Kocer was Wednesday, February 9 at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Dante. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Dante, with military honors. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Dennis Jake Wynia was born February 24, 1954 in Bon Homme County, the son of Gerben and Marcleen (Einrem) Wynia. He passed away Saturday, February 5 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton. Per Denny's wishes, no services were held. Peters Funeral Home in Springfield was in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Elizabeth (Kastein) Tolsma was born October 30, 1928 to Henry and Johanna (Kuiper) Kastein on the family farm west of Springfield. She died on January 31 at the Avera Sister James Care Center at the age of 93. Ruth attended the Equal Rights and Kirkwood country schools until the 8th grade.

Louis died Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Funeral services were Saturday, January 29, at the Marty Community Center. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements. Louis Dale Hare, Sr. entered this world on September 9, 1946 born to Leafia P.
