Thomas James Kafka was born on November 21, 1961 in Wagner. He died Monday, December 13 at the Avera Queen of Peace Hospital Mitchell. Tom was baptized and confirmed at the Assumption of the Blessed Mary Catholic Church Dante. He graduated from the Wagner Community School in 1980.

Frances “Pat” Marlene Winckler, age 89 of Tyndall, passed away Saturday, December 18 at her home. Her funeral will be Monday, December 27 at 1:30 p.m., at United Methodist Church in Tyndall. Interment will be at the Tyndall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with 7:00 p.m.

Services for Marlene Beck were held December 21 at Clausen Funeral Home in Burke, interment followed at Herrick Cemetery. Marlene Mavis Beck was born April 11, 1952 at Wagner to Ulysses and Sybil (Brown Bear) Iron Hawk.

Private funeral services were held Tuesday, December 14 at Peters Funeral Home. Burial was in the Springfield Cemetery. Beverly Arlene (Odens) Jelsma, daughter of Boldewyn and Anthonetta (Risseeuw) Odens was born September 23, 1931 in rural Springfield.

Lee Roy Kuhlman, of Monroe Ohio, passed away December 3. He was born February 6, 1934 in Lima, OH; the son of Leroy And Matilda (Elshoff) Kuhlman. He married JoAnn Kuck on June 2, 1956.

Funeral services for Catherine Charging Hawk, 83, of Yankton were Saturday, December 11 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Marty. Burial was in St. Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Marty. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Kendall Leo Wiechmann, 65, of Parkston passed away Thursday, Dec 9, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Sioux Falls. All services will be held at the National Guard Armory in Wagner. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 6 p.m., followed by a Prayer Service at 6 p.m..

Services were Friday, December 10, at the East Lake Andes Lutheran Church, rural Armour. Mavis Joan Hoffman was born to Lionel and Eunice (Sorenson) Barkley on July 7, 1934, in Wagner. She passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at Sanford Vermillion Care Center, Vermillion.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 13 at the Danzig Baptist Church, rural Avon. Burial is in the Danzig Baptist Cemetery. Visitation is at the church on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a 7 p.m. Prayer Service. Peters Funeral Home in Avon is in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn Jean Coleman was born March 16, 1934, west of Tyndall, to James Sr. and Minnie (Wagner) Fryda. She passed away Sunday, November 28, 2021 at her home in Springfield. Evelyn attended Tyndall High School for two years and graduated from Springfield High School in 1952.
