Wagner/Bon Homme Gymnastics team hosted a 10-team tournament Saturday, December 9th where they earned 4th place. Wagner Bon Homme gymnasts improved by seven and a half points in one week!

The Raiders continued action last week with a triangular Thursday night in Wagner against Burke-Gregory and Winner for Wagner parents night. The Raiders also competed in Howard with 17 other teams Saturday and finished in 6th place as a team.

Chase the Ace, a fundraiser sponsored by the Wagner Activities Council is a new organization that started last year. The organization is similar to a student council for the schools events and activities.

The Lady Raiders traveled to Winner take on the Warriors last Friday night in girls basketball action. Both teams would come out to a sluggish start with Wagner taking a 10-9 lead after one. Wagner would stretch it’s lead to 26-19 going into the half.

Tournament Results in the weight classes were: 138 - Karstyn Lhotak (6-2) placed 2nd and scored 19.5 team points. Champ Round 1 - Lhotak 6-2 received a bye. Quarterfinal - Lhotak 6-2 won by fall over Jerimiah Friman (Parker). Semifinal Lhotak won by tech fall over Greyson Nielson (Kingsbury County.

SESD All Conference Players: Jhett Breen, Braxton Knudson, Bain Kuhlman, Parker, Petry and Gannon Knebel. Bain Kuhlman was voted as an all conference linebacker. Kuhlman was the leader of the Red Raider defense this year that was very productive.

BonHomme/AvonWrestlers traveled to Wagner November 30th to start off their wrestling season. At the close of the match, Bon Homme/Avon scored 55 to Wagners 20 points.

The Sioux Falls Washington Pavilion presented the hit Broadway Musical Aladdin from November 28th through December 3rd. The Andes Central Music Boosters sponsored a trip for Andes Central middle school and high school band and chorus members to go and experience Aladdin.

The head coach for the 20232024 Andes Central wrestling team is David Kocer. Coach Kocer is assisted by Jason Knebel and the JV/Jr. High coach is Jacob Ziegler. This is Coach Kocer’s first season as the head coach for Andes Central. There are three team members this year.

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian girls basketball team’s head coach for the 2023-2024 season is Shane Niewenhuis. Shane has been coaching for 12 years. Coach Niewenhuis is assisted this year by Ben Kroese and Lisa Foley. Senior team members are Claire Johnson and Neveah Morgan.
