The Avon Lady Pirates were on the road last week, picking up an impressive win before coming up short in their second outing. Avon opened the week with a strong performance at Alcester/Hudson, earning a decisive 57-19 victory.

The Avon Pirates boys basketball team was on the road last week and faced a pair of tough opponents, falling in both contests. Avon boys first traveled to Alcester/Hudson where the Pirates suffered a 52-68 loss. Zander Fathke led Avon in scoring with 15 points, while Al’Shamon Gunter added 13.

The Lady Raiders Hosted the #5 Ethan Rustlers last Tuesday night in girls basketball action. Ethan would jump out to a 6-2 lead as Wagner could counter back with a 13-11 lead after the first. Ethan would continue to know down perimeter shots and take a 26-28 lead into the half.

The Lady Raiders traveled to Tyndall to take on the Bon Homme Cavaliers last Thursday night in girls basketball action. The Raiders would race to a 30-5 lead after the first quarter and finish with a 68-25 win. Wagner would shoot 29-46 for 63% while Bon Homme would shoot 10-43 for 23%.

ARPAN’S DOUBLE-DOUBLE LEADS WAGNER PAST ETHAN Wagner’s varsity boys team made 9 three pointers en-route to a victory over Ethan Tuesday night. The boys started out hot, scoring 24 points in the first quarter and leading 36-32 at half time.
