The Wagner Varsity Red Raiders struggled to find momentum Monday evening, falling 13-2 to a strong Scotland/Menno squad. Scotland/Menno jumped out to an early lead in the first inning when Trinity Bietz grounded out to bring in the game's opening run.

The 2025 spring season marks a fresh chapter for the team under the guidance of new head coach Jacob Ziegler, who steps into his first high school head coaching role after nearly a decade of experience across multiple sports and levels.

Avon Invitational Track Meet was held Thursday, April 17th with Darla Van Gerpen being named Honorary Referee of the meet.

Macy Voigt hit two home runs and drove in four as the Avon Lady Pirates defeated Scotland/Menno Varsity Trappers 17-11 on Monday, April 14th. Voigt homered in the fifth and fourth innings.

The Wagner Community School’s Varsity golf team swung into their season on Friday, April 11th when they participated in the Class B Classic in Mitchell at Lakeview at 10:30 a.m. This meet was one of their toughest of the season.

The 2025 track and field season is underway, and expectations are high for the Wagner Red Raiders under the guidance of Coaches Jenny Zephier, Matt Slaba, Jason Knebel, and Trevor Greger.

The Lady pirates struck first, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning. However, they were stifled for the rest of the game and lost on a walk off single by Castlewood in the bottom of the fifth. Macy Voigt started the game for the Pirates.
