The Lady Raiders hosted the Winner Warriors in girls basketball action last Friday night in Wagner. Wagner would start on a roll with a 21-6 advantage after the first quarter and increase their lead to 39-15 at the half.

Saturday, December 14th The Wagner Bon Homme varsity lady Raiders are making improvements. These girls are gaining skills, precision, power, and confidence.

Wagner traveled to Rapid City for a two day tournament.

The Avon boys’ basketball team has a new head coach this season, Marshall Faulkner. Coach Faulkner is assisted by Coach Dan Fathke. Faulkner been a coach for two years. This year’s team has a good mix of both upper and underclassmen.

Head Coach Brad Poppe will once again be coaching the Lady Pirates girls’ basketball team this 2024-2025 season. This is Poppe’s 30th season as the head coach of the Lady Pirates and his 38th year of coaching overall. Coach Poppe is assisted by coaches Becky Haenfler and Don Mudder.

This year the Bon Homme/ Scotland/Avon girls’ wrestling team is coached by Head Coach Darren Kriz and assisted by Jim Kocer, Ben Hellmann, Alex Caba, Shane Sutera and Dom Pechous. Coach Kocer has taken point when it comes to the girls’ wrestling team.

This year’s AC/DC boys’ basketball team is coached by Head Coach Gordon Hooks, who is assisted by his son Brevan Hooks. This is Gordon’s 17th year coaching and Brevan’s fourth.

The 2024-2025 Thunder girls’ basketball season tips off on December 14th at 6:30 p.m. at Dakota Christian against Platte/ Geddes. The coaching staff for this year’s team are Head Coach Shane Niewenhuisa long with Assistant Coaches Ben Kroese and Allison Ekroth.

In an exciting turnout of student-athletes wanting to wrestle this year for the Andes Central Thunder team which went from last year’s three wrestlers to this year’s eight team members is quite an improvement, so much so that the wrestlers are this year practicing on their own mats at Andes Central.
