The Wagner Speedway held their annual awards banquet at the Fort Randall Casino this past Saturday, May 4th. They announced their point winners in six categories from the 2023 racing season. Congratulations on a great season and hoping to see all compete in the upcoming racing season.
May Day (May 1st) came in cool and a little windy but was welcomed by the Wagner Rotary Club. Everyone needs some sunshine and warmer weather. President Brunsing called the members to order and read a prayer of thankfulness.

The fifth and sixth graders competed in an Arbor Day essay contest. Fifth grade winners were Michaela Kokes (1st), Hayden DeNoyer (2nd) and Natalie Zacharias (3rd). Sixth grade winners included Calie Frei (1st), Deisha Medicine Horn (2nd) and Corbin Johnson (3rd).
May is designated at Older Americans Month and to commemorate this month and honor our older Americans the Library will be the site of a Pie & Games Social, sponsored by LSS Older Adult Resource Network. The social will be held on Tuesday, May 7th from 1-3 pm at the library location at 17 Park Ave.

JAG students attended the State Conference in Wagner with Sandra Wade winning a free trip to the national conference in Washington DC in the fall because she entered the JAG National Poster Competition.
With it being prom season, the Lake Andes Senior Living Center crowned their 2024 King and Queen April 13th. The candidates for King were Melvin Chasing Hawk, Randall Spreckles and Paul Fast Horse. The candidates for Queen were Estelle Redlightning, Noreen Bridges and Vae VanDenHoek.
