AMERICAN LEGION AUXILLARY

The Wagner American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Greer Unit #11 has three delegates that they will be sending to 2025 Girls State. Ali Myer, Jennifer Feucht-Thooft and Romiah Heth will attend the five-day event starting on May 25th through the 29th at the University of South Dakota campus in Vermillion.

GREER UNIT #11 AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY MEETING MINUTES

Greer Unit #11 American Legion Auxiliary held their monthly meeting on March 20 at the Post Home with 15 members present. The meeting was called to order by President Alyssa Mathis. Chaplain Margie Stone read the opening prayer. The Pledge of Allegiance and Preamble were recited in unison.

SERVICE OF APPRECIATION TO BE HELD

ANNUAL DISTRICT 8 SPRING MEETING

TABOR - The annual District 8 Spring Meeting of the South Dakota American Legion will be held Saturday, March 29 in Tabor for Legionnaires from Turner, Bon Homme, Charles Mix, Clay, Douglas, Hutchinson and Yankton counties. The Legion business session will begin at 1:00 p.m.

LSS OLDER ADULT RESOURCE NETWORK EXPANDS INTO BON HOMME COUNTY

LSS is pleased to announce the expansion of its Older Adult Resource Network (OARN) into Hutchinson and Bon Homme Counties. The program supports adults aged 55+ and their caregivers in rural areas, helping them access essential resources and services that enable them to age comfortably at home.

ANDES CENTRAL SCHOOL YEARBOOK GOES DIGITAL

Andes Central has switched over to a digital only yearbook format. The 2024-25 Fall semester is currently available for viewing on the school website. The plan moving forward is to release a fall and spring yearbook shortly after each semester ends.

The fifth database available thru the South Dakota State Library at the Lake Andes Public Library that we will explore this week is “Gale E-Books”. This database can be logged in to from home as well as the library. If you are a history buff this is a database for you!
