Not only is Hunter Lhotak the Wagner and South Dakota Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year, but he is also the creator and implementer of a new program at the Wagner Boys and Girls Club called Pass and Receive.

TABOR - The annual District 8 Spring Meeting of the South Dakota American Legion will be held Saturday, March 29, 2025, in Tabor for Legionnaires from Turner, Bon Homme, Charles Mix, Clay, Douglas, Hutchinson and Yankton counties. The Legion business session will begin at 1:00 p.m.

SMALL GROUPS HAVE BEGUN AT ANDES CENTRAL SCHOOL

Part of the job of being a middle school and high school counselor is offering student discussions as well as teaching students the skills that are needed to be able to cope with everyday life as they navigate the current world as adolescents.

LADY RAIDERS PLACE 7TH AT STATE A'S

The Lady Raiders headed out to Spearfish this last weekend for the girls class A state tournament. Wagner opened up with the undefeated Mahpiya Luta. Wagner would find themselves trailing 15-14 after the first period then trailing by 9 at the half.

LAKE ANDES VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT ANNUAL STEAK SUPPER

The Lake Andes Volunteer Fire Department held their annual steak supper during the last weekend of February. Members that received recognition for their dedication to the fire department were Will Bennett who has been with the department for 15 years.

LADY RAIDERS ADVANCE TO STATE!

The Lady Raiders traveled to Winner for the Sodak 16 to take on the Lakota Tech Tatanka for a berth to the Class A State Tournament. Both teams would come out firing and exchanging baskets only to find Lakota Tech leading 18-17 after the first period.

MISSOURI VALLEY REGIONAL SPELLING BEE

There are six schools that are a part of the Missouri Valley Regional Spelling Bee including Andes Central, Burke, Dakota Christian, Gregory, Platte-Geddes and South Central. Every year the regional spelling bee is held at a different school’s location.
