Pierre – The South Dakota Department of Education awarded 28 school districts the Elevating Literacy Across South Dakota (ELASD) Grant. The ELA-SD Grant is funded from the federal Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) grant, awarded to the department last year.

On October 28-31st, the Andes Central FFA members embarked on a bus ride to Indianapolis, Indiana for the 98th National FFA Convention and Expo. On day 1 they met new people on the bus, stopped at an elk farm on the way, and checked into their hotel.

The Red Raider volleyball team traveled to Rapid City to compete in the 2025 State volleyball tournament. Wagner faced a tough Dakota Valley squad in the opening round and lost with scores of 8-25, 11-25, and 18-25.

The Avon Pirates saw their remarkable season come to an end at the DakotaDome last Thursday, falling 6–54 to the St. Mary Cardinals in the State Football Championship. Early miscues put Avon in a difficult position, as a string of first-quarter fumbles set up quick scoring opportunities for St.

GUEST SPEAKERS Andes Central School held their annual Veteran's Day Program on Tuesday, November 11th in their school auditorium. Students honored Veteran's with poetry, instrumental and choral presentations. Marvin Gall and Cole Johnson were featured guest speakers.

The Wagner volleyball team traveled to Chamberlain to take on the Winner Warriors in the SoDak 16 matchup. The Red Raiders came out swinging and battled every set finishing strong with a 3-1 win with scores of 25-21, 18-25, 25-16, and 25-13.
