WAGNER WAVES AWARDED SECOND PLACE OVERALL

Junior high/high school football players from Wagner, AC/DC, Armour, Avon, Menno, Platte Geddes, Corsica and Yankton spent two days last week learning and perfecting skills.

AVON WINS 12U REC LEAGUE TOURNAMENT

The Avon 12U softball team battled against nine other teams to win the 12U REC tournament of the Little Missouri Softball league. In game one, Avon defeated Springfield by a score of 12-0. Leading hitters for Avon were Rowan Brandt with 2 singles and Ashley Soukup with a double.

4-H HORSE PROJECT MEMBER RESULTS

The Bon Homme-Charles Mix County 4-H Horse Show was held Wednesday, June 25th at the 7-N Arena in Springfield SD. Judge for the show was Megan Knievel, Ewing, NE.

CHARLES MIX COUNTY FARMERS UNION DAY CAMP

Farmers Union hosted a day camp in Geddes, on June 24th. Youth spent the afternoon focused on learning more about the history of Cooperatives through games and interactive lessons. Time was spent playing games, making crafts, and learning about renewable and nonrenewable resources.

HEAVY RAIN FALLS OVER THE WEEKEND

Sunday night a thunderstorm came through Avon with heavy rainfall leaving the city park flooded. Locals reported rainfall totals from 2.95 up to 3.30 inches. With the hot, windy weather we had last week the rainfall and cooler temperatures will be a good change and will help the crops.
