NATIONAL KINDERGARTEN DAY

National Kindergarten Day is celebrated on April 21st each year in dedication to the man credited with founding kindergarten, Fredrich Frobel, who founded the first kindergarten in 1837. Frobel believed that children needed a space to play in and explore their own interests and creativity.

ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONALS DAY

National Administrative Professionals Day is celebrated annually on the Wednesday of the last full week of April. This year this celebratory day is Wednesday, April 24th.

“DRY SKIN? JOIN THE CLUB”

An exceedingly common question I get in clinic, especially in the heart of a South Dakota winter, is how to remedy dry skin. And the questions aren’t just in clinic; my own kids, family, friends, everyone seems to have an occasional problem with dry and irritated skin.

WCS FFA MEMBERS QUALIFY FOR STATE COMPETITION

FFA offers 24 different Career Development Events (CDE)s and one activity that students can choose from to compete in. These competitions challenge FFA members to a real-life, hands-on test of skills that can help prepare them for the over 200 available careers in agriculture.

One of this week’s featured WCS seniors is Devin Rouse. Devin is the son of Stephanie Chasing Hawk. Devin’s advice for underclassmen is to enjoy your time at Wagner Community School. His best memory from his time at WCS is shooting hoops with his friends.

Greer Post #11 American Legion

American Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on April 18th, 2024 with 31 members in attendance. We had three guests, Ernie and Martin Rezac, and Dan Horner. Commander Rados thanked the cooks for the delicious meal.

SLABA NAMED OUTSTANDING SDCASE ADMINISTRATOR

The South Dakota Council of Administrators of Special Education (SDCASE) recently chose Miss Slaba to be the recipient of the 2024 Outstanding SDCASE Administrator award.

Evelyn Cimpl age 97, of Yankton, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the Avera Sister James Care Center in Yankton. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am, Saturday, April 20, 2024 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Yankton with Fr. Thi Pham officiating.
