Williams Septic of Avon changed ownership on December 1st of 2023 from Jack Williams to his daughter, Shona and her husband, Travis. Travis and Shona Hill are the new co-owners and operators of Williams Septic.

As area juniors focus upon their future and what they need to do to get ready for the next step in life after high school, they are also very aware that step might include taking an entrance exam, such as an ACT test.

In my State of the State Address, I talked about the Freedom to be secure. We are so fortunate to live in a nation where we have many Freedoms, including the Freedom to feel secure in our own communities. Unfortunately, that security is now being threatened.

Lee Qualm a Platte, SD resident and 4th generation farmer has announced his bid for District 21 House. This is not the first time Qualm has served in the Legislature. Lee was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2013.

We started the Session this week on Tuesday since Monday was President’s Day. I had two different bills in two different committees at the same time.

Week seven is finished, and we have only one committee hearing left in Senate Health and Human Services; we are finished in Senate Ag, and just have a few meetings left in Senate State Affairs.
