Week 6 is in the books, and it was the busiest week we’ve had in Pierre so far. We had several long floor sessions, and committees met in the late afternoon and evening hours as well on multiple days, which is rare.

3 weeks to go! In State Affairs Committee we have had our work cut out and have been meeting 2 times a day to get through our bill log. Several bills have related to the Future Fund and the Governors Office of Economic Development (GOED).

The Legislative Session is two thirds done with the completion of Week Six. I was the Senate Prime for Senate Bill 1035 which modifies license requirements to obtain a Certified Public Accountant License.

Who couldn’t use a little more money in their pocket? Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts, there’s a good chance you’ll be seeing more money in your pocket when you file your taxes this year.

Avon School has announced its Gold Standard Pirates of the Week. This week’s honorees include Rozlyn Brandt representing grades PK-4, Zulema Serrano representing grades 5-8, and Atyliese Akridge epresenting grades 9-12.

February 16–20 marked South Dakota School Board Recognition Week, a special time to recognize and thank the individuals who volunteer their time and leadership to serve our local schools and community.

K-2nd: Adrianna LaRouche Adrianna LaRouche has shown wonderful progress this year! She is reading more difficult books with ease and pauses to reflect on what is occuring in the book. She is also getting much better with her math facts.

Rapid City, S.D. – The 113 chapters and over 6500 members that make up the South Dakota FFA Association (SD FFA) will celebrate National FFA Week February 21-28. It’s a time to share what FFA is and the impact it has on members every day.
