GIVE THANKS BY GIVING BLOOD THIS NOVEMBER

JOHNSTON, IOWA (Friday, October 10) – This November, in the spirit of gratitude and giving, LifeServe Blood Center is encouraging individuals to schedule an appointment to donate blood and support patients who depend on blood transfusions.

PIRATE XC RUNNERS QUALIFY FOR STATE MEET

Three Avon cross country runners placed in the top 20 at the region 3B meet on October 15, qualifying them for the state meet! Cale placed 12th, Rance placed 13th, and Zander placed 19th.

This homecoming week was an epic rollercoaster, starting with the dress-up day of redneck/USA, in which the winners were: Josie Schloss for elementary, Whitley Wolf for middle school, and Brenson Ratzloff for high school.

Our senior spotlight of the week is Ella Jayde Hamilton. She was born on August 17th, 2008 to Reno and Jayde Hamilton. Her favorite subject in school is anatomy because she really likes the class, and she also has a lot of fun and learns so much.

Andes Central Teacher Spotlights

Mrs. Storms teaches 4th grade and grew up far from South Dakota over in Phoenix, Arizona! She attended Western Governors University and earned a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Storms has always had a love for science and it has always been her favorite subject as a kid and an adult.

MIDWEST HONOR FLIGHT

On its 27th mission, Midwest Honor Flight transported 83 veterans to Washington, D.C. for a heartfelt tour of military memorials and national landmarks.
Fischer and his son, Dan Fischer, make an etching of the names Wendell W. Stewart and Gareth J. Deal, both natives of Wagner, who lost their lives in Vietnam while serving our country.
