CAROL A. PESICKA
Carol Ann Pesicka, 90, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at the Wagner Good Samaritan Society in Wagner. Funeral mass was Saturday, June 20 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Armour. Arrangements were by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.
Carol was born June 14, 1936 to Frank “Doc” and Ella “Cook” (Brotherson) Petrik in Wagner. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school near there through the 8th grade. She attended Lake Andes High School and graduated in 1954. She was united in marriage to Leonard Pesicka on June 21, 1954 in Lake Andes. The couple made their home on the farm where Carol helped in the day to day farm oper-ations. She worked at Nick’s Market in Lake Andes for 27 years before working as a cook and head cook for the Andes Central School District for the next 25 years. She enjoyed sewing and cooking and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Altar Society, and St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Lake Andes before moving to Armour and becoming a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.
Grateful for having shared her life are her two children: Tim Pesicka of Armour and Theresa (Jim) Holderby of Armour; three grandchildren: Kelly (Jason) Clare of Sioux Falls; Jamie (Ray) Bigge of Armour; and Marti (Justin) Blair of Geddes; three great-grandchildren: Estelle Clare, Olivia Bigge, and Gwenith Bigge; and a sister-in-law, Karen Petrik of Ethan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard; a sister, Shirley (Leo) Payer; and a brother, Tom Petrik.
