Funeral services for Delano Thomas Aungie III, 42, of Marty were Tuesday, July 21 at the YST South Gym. Burial was in the Hill Church Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Dante. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
Delano was born on October 15, 1983 at Yankton, a son to Delano Aungie, Jr. and Pamela (Weston) Aungie. He began his journey home on July 17, 2026 while in Hospice at Wagner Community Hospital having reached 42 years, 9 months, and 17 days. Delano grew up 10 miles South of Wagner. He attended Wagner Community High School, graduating May 2002. He did one semester at USD Vermillion before returning home and starting work at Fort Randall Casino as a Blackjack Dealer. He also worked in the Four Directions Restaurant. His passion was working on cars and doing yard work. He loved playing sports: Baseball, Football, Basketball, and Track during his high school years and men’s slow pitch, throwing Horseshoe, playing cards and dice.
He leaves behind to mourn his children: Bailey Stoltz, Cecelia and Gabriel Zephier, Delaney and Delano Aungie IV and Avery, Kole and Evans Aungie; one grandson Joesph Julian Oryan Zephier; his parents Delano and Pamela Aungie, Jr.; one sister Whitley Aungie; a nephew Jaydan and a niece Amaya; his Aunties: Tamara (Chop) Gunhammer, Toni Thompson of Pukwana, and Martina Weston, of Omaha, NE.
He was preceeded in death by his grandparents William and Gloria Aungie, Enos and Marion Grace Weston; great grandma Alice Weston; great grandfathers, Smith Jandreau and Steve Red Buffalo; his uncles, Enos Weston, Jr. and Nicolas Aungie; Aunties: Cathy Weston, Patricia Weston, and Dorothy Weston; and cousins: Mark Aungie, Wasu Wanagni LaPlante and Jonus Aungie.
