Kim Wayne Joseph Hakl, born August 21, 1953, peacefully passed away at his home on February 21 in Tripp. Kim was a son to Richard and Delores Hakl of Lake Andes. He attended Lake Andes public school K-12 and graduated with the Class of 1972.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret (Peggy) Melmer, on January 29, 2025, in Mitchell, South Dakota, at the age of 90. A Celebration of Life for Peggy will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 1-5 at her home, 314 S. Wisconsin, Mitchell, SD 57301.

Memorial services for Shirley Masteller, 80, of Glenham were held Monday, March 3 at the Selby Methodist Church. Shirley passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge was in charge of arrangements.

Ethel M. Berndt, age 84, of Canby, MN, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby. Memorial service was held Saturday, March 1 at the First Baptist Church in Canby with Rev. Jeff Cooper officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.

Scott was a very active member of the Wagner community. He was a member of the Lions Club, Fire Department, Rotary, Labor Day Committee, former President of the Chamber of Commerce and a big sponsor of the Wagner Wrestling Club. Work was his life.

Above all, Peggy’s greatest accomplishment was raising her eight children and helping care for her grandchildren. She had an undeniable love for children and could always be found withopenarmswhenababywas nearby.

Raven Zephier, 32, of Sioux City, IA, formerly of Wagner, died Friday, February 7, 2025 at Mercy One Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. Funeral services were Saturday, February 15 at the YST South Gym in Wagner. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood.

Funeral services for Rochelle Kay Wright, 70, of Eagle Lake, MN were held Monday, February 17 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Jill Marlene Wepking Grogan, who departed this world in Sioux Falls, on January 7, 2025. Jill Marlene Wepking was born on May 26, 1947, in Freeport, Illinois to Barbara Erdmier Wepking and Milo Wepking.

Roy Johnson, 69, of Mitchell, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls after a serious illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 11, at RiverTree Church in Mitchell. The burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell at a later date.
