The Wagner Volleyball team traveled to Winner on Saturday, October 22nd to compete in the SESD Conference Tournament. The Raiders went in ranked second by seed points. In the first round of pool play the Raiders faced Winner beating them in two straight sets with scores of 25-15 and 25-15.

Fort Randall Casino Broncos vs. the Midtowne Cowboys, with the Broncos coming out victorious. Boys & Girls Club Super Bowl 22 was then played under the Friday Night Lights. The contest featured the Commercial State Bank Vikings squaring off against the Pioneer Packers.

Avon hosted Wolsey-Wessington Friday night where they suffered the tough loss 16-34.

Avon hosted the Centerville Tornadoes Thursday, October 6 where they played hard for 5 sets, but came up short 2-3. McKenna Kocmich led at the service line with 4 aces followed byLexiVanderleiandKimTolsma each with 1. Courtney Sees had 8 kills and 21 digs for the night.

The Awana students from First Baptist Church will be doing Trick or Treat so Others Can Eat on Wednesday, October 26th. From 6:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. they will be going around town collecting non-perishable items to be given to the food pantry.

Kimberly Tolsma has been involved in volleyball for six years.Shehasbeeninvolleyballsincethesixthgradeplaying many varying positions. Kim is a senior, and plays middle and outside hitter on varsity. Her most notable moment this season is getting to play lots of different positions.

Jessica Streit, born on July 19th, 2005 is a female senior at Avon High school. She lives with her mother Jaime Poignee, her stepdad Jon Newman, and two of her five siblings; Alex and Iris. Alex is a 7th grader this year and Iris is a 1st grader.

Haley Gillette is a senior at Avon high school, graduating in 2023. She was born on March 8, 2004 and has 2 siblings; Jerry and Payton. Her parents are Natessa and Dustin. Haley's favorite subject in school is Psychology because she enjoys learning about human behaviors and disorders.

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian fell to Menno in four close sets on Thursday, October 6th.
