With their second tournament in the same week, the BHSA girls participated in the Winnebago Lady Indian Invite on January 3 finishing in fourth place out 40 teams.
Avon hosted Wagner on Friday, January 3rd. The girls played a great game but sadly came up short as the final buzzer sounded 43-58. Rilyn Thury led the scoreboard with 15 points, Lila Vanderlei had 9 and Kaeli Wallinga 6. Wallinga pulled down 8 rebounds, Breanna Hento 4.
The Lady Raiders traveled to Avon last Friday night to take on the Pirates in LMVC conference action. Wagner would hold the edge 15-9 after the first and then increase their lead to 33-17 at the end of the first half. Wagner would outscore Avon by 3 in the third, taking a 48-29 lead into the 4th.
The Raider boys got their third win in a row Friday Night in Avon. The game was tied 11-11 after the first period. Wagner built a 11 point lead in the second quarter but the Pirates made a late run to cut the deficit to 2 at half time.
Wagner Bon Homme gymnasts traveled to Chamberlain on Friday, and placed second as a team.
Bars: Aubry Williams scored a 5.65, Addison Cuka scored a 6.80 and placed 3rd, Dusti Laska scored a 5.65, Amelia Rathgeber scored a 4.40, Emma McNinch scored a 5.05, Roper Lhotak 3.
The list officially came out of the South Dakota High School football players receiving All-State and All-American honors in November. On that list was Aziah Meyer. Not only was he named to the 9B All-State football team, but was also awarded the title of South Dakota Class 9B All-American.
It’s been over a decade since Wagner and Lennox have matched up in girls basketball action, with the last meeting between the two teams being in 2013. It was a slugfest the first half. Wagner would score the first basket and the game would be tied 4-4 mid-way through the first quarter.
