On Tuesday, June 18, Wagner’s Post 11 American Legion baseball team played host to Chamberlain. This one was a pretty good pitcher’s duel contrasting two styles. Ted Slaba would be Wagner’s pitcher of record.

On Monday, June 24, the Post 7319 teeners traveled to Canova for a couple of games on the diamond. In the first contest, Wagner would best Canova’s Gang by a score of 3-0.

On Wednesday, June 19, Wagner’s Post 7319 VFW 14U and 16U teeners hosted Parkston. The 14U team struggled to hit and field the ball in this contest as they would fall to the visitors by a score of 12-0.

For Shada Beeson, roping and rodeoing run through her blood. She has been competing in rodeos since she was eight years old. Shada is the daughter of Jackie Beeson, Jeremy Havranek and Travis Beeson. Shada’s is the granddaughter of Mark and Joanie Van Duysen.

Wagner’s VFW Post 7319 teeners traveled to Winner to participate in their annual tournament. Wagner would come up on the short end of a 9-4 score against Gregory in their first game.

On Tuesday, June 11, Wagner’s American Legion Post 11 team hosted Parkston’s Post 194. Too many Ks at the plate and errors in the field proved to be Wagner’s undoing as they would fall to the visitors by a 9-5 score. Matt Link was the starting pitcher and he went 5+ innings.

Avon 18U opened their season on Tuesday, June 11 hosting Crofton, NE in a double-header. Crofton 2000011 4 Avon 301100X 5 In game 1 Crofton jumped on the board with 2 runs in the top of the first but Avon answered with 3 in the bottom half of the inning.

The Elite traveled to Mt. Vernon where they picked up a pair of wins by the score of 26-5 and 14-3. Emeryson Haenfler and Leah DeWald picked up the wins. The Elite then participated in the Lowell Rang tournament in Mitchell.
