Much of orthopedic surgical training is appropriately dedicated to the planning and execution of surgery, but it is also important to understand and recognize patients who present with conditions readily addressed without surgery and the accompanying risks of invasive procedures. Muddy Creek has been our contractor of choice for many of the 35 years of rodeo in Burke. Chancy recognized that the Stampede had been doing everything professionally except inviting the cowboys and cowgirls of the PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) and WPRA (Women’s Professional Rodeo Association) to compete on our arena floor. The Burke Stampede took Chancy’s encouragement and advice to heart and hit the dirt running being sanctioned by the PRCA for the first time ever in 2021. It was all we had hoped for and dreamed of and more, now five years later, we are not looking back!
