Alfred attended rural school through the 8th grade. He married Suzanne “Susie” Ferguson in Tyndall February 21, 1952. Together they farmed and raised livestock their whole life until retiring in 1998 and moving into Wagner in 1999. He also did some custom corn shelling for a few years.

Alfred will be remembered for many things such as his love of gambling and playing cards, es-pecially rummy, pinochle and pitch, going fishing, listening to Polka music and watching Hee-Haw, The Price Is Right and Wheel of Fortune. He enjoyed driving out to the farm, going to farm auctions, family get togethers and playing pool. His family will remember the Sunday morning breakfasts, his “floor soup” and his love of Diet Pepsi and ice cream.

Thankful for having shared his life are his three daughters: Penny (Rick) Marshall of Wagner, Rose Bartunek of Wagner and Peggy (Kenny) Avant of Avon; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

Alfred was preceded in death by his wife Susie, daughter Gail, parents and brother Oscar.
