ERNEST WEDDELL, JR.

Funeral services for Ernest Weddell, Jr., 71 of Marty were held Friday, May 9 at the YST South Community Gym in Wagner. Burial was in the Hill Church Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Wagner.
Ernest Gerald Weddell, Jr. was born to Ernest Lorenzo Weddell, Sr. and Elaine Edna Little. He died Tuesday, May 6, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner.
Junior attended school at Lower Bruce High School. He was involved in basketball, football, track and cross country. He was also selected Vice-President of the senior class. Junior was elected Prom King his senior year.
Junior worked over 20 years at Marty Indian School and 15 years at the Yankton Sioux Tribe. He served in the US Marine Corps.
Junior enjoyed many things. He was a big sports fan. He enjoyed horseshoes, softball, fast-pitch, fishing, cruising, gambling at the casino and playing the Buffalo machines. He also liked playing dice and 654 with the Bru Crew. He was a Dallas Cowboys and a New York Yankees fan. He liked Tequila Sunrises, shots and beers, cigs, pej, and reading the newspapers and watching tv to see all the scores and lol with his friend Cletus Hare.
Junior is survived by Leslie Drappeau, Jenna Weddell, Ernestine, Walt, Gary, Dori, Robin, Connie and Perry.
Junior was preceded in death by his father Ernest Weddell, Sr. and mother Elaine Little; Billy Jack Weddell, Donovan Rouse, Justin Patterson, Diane Weddell Milk, Larry “Sam” Weddell, Sandy Weddell, Mary Rose Little and Randy Little.
