Janice Trummer, 89, of Lake Andes, died Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at the Lake Andes Senior Living Center in Lake Andes. Her wishes were to have no services.

Janice Marie (Engfer) Trummer was born April 9,1934 in Carlos, MN to Albert and Myrtle (McCommas) Engfer.

Janice married the love of her life Donald Trummer in 1950 in Lake Andes. Together they shared a lifetime of experiences traveling, enjoying their cabin cruiser while living on Lake Minnetonka, MN, and retiring in Baja, Mexico. Janice loved to knit. She learned when she was eight and made afghans for every marriage and baby in the family and you can see that was a lot!

Janice is survived by her five children: Rose Leibhan of Sioux Falls, Donna Ehrisman of Bella Vista, AR, Debra Johnson of Plymouth, MN, Monica Strait of Lake Andes and David Trummer of San Diego, CA; 16 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Myrtle; two brothers; two sisters; husband Donald; and granddaughter Stefani (Leibhan) Cline.

Janice received loving care from her youngest daughter Monica in Lake Andes for many years which was very much appreciated by Janice’s extensive family. Janice will be missed by her family, but they are comforted by the memories of the full life she lived.
