JUDY WYNIA

Private services for Judy Wynia, 56, were held. Burial was in the Pioneer Cemetery, rural Avon. Peters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Judy Kay Wynia was born May 18, 1969 at Yankton, the daughter of Johnny “Jack” and Gertrude (Weissensel) Wynia. She died Sunday, November 23, 2025 at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Judy grew up in Avon and spent her past 36 years in Vermillion. Judy will be remembered for her love as a young girl swinging for hours in her swing set basket, playing ball and riding on the 4-wheeler with her dad. She loved family visits, horses, country music, broasted chicken, french fries and a coke. The residents and staff of Sesdac were family to her and Judy especially loved the group outings. Thankful for having shared her life are her two sisters: Dorothy (Richard) Dwyer of Harrisburg and Diane (Patrick) Pohl of Lansing, MI; brother Jay (Kari) Wynia of Dante; eight nieces and nephews: Ashley Dwyer, Derek Dwyer, Justin Pohl, Jayme Pohl, Jachie Pohl, Johnny Wynia, Zachary Wynia and Tate Wynia; and six grand nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
