Funeral services for Tina Kay Dangel, 48, of Lake Andes, were Friday, June 13, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Mound City. Burial is in the Mound City Cemetery. Peters FuneralHomeinWagnerwas in charge of arrangements.

Tina Kay Dangel was born in Aberdeen on October 10, 1976, the daughter of Walter and Alice (Hall) Schaffer. After a courageous battle with cancer, Tina entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Tina graduated from Eureka High School in 1995. She went on to earn a BA in Animal Science and Pre Vet at South Dakota State University.

Tina married Michael Dangel on September 14, 2002 in Mound City. They settled in Lake Andes where Tina worked for the SDSU Extension Services in Charles Mix County as an Extension Educator for over 13 years. Tina worked with 4H programs not only in Charles Mix County but all the surrounding counties developing and delivering educational programs. For the past twelve years Tina has been employed with South Central Child Development as a HomeBasedHeadStartteacher, enriching the lives of all the children she taught.

Tina has served her community on many boards and organizations including the Charles Mix County 4H Leaders, Goose Lake Township, American Legion Auxiliary, Mid City Rabbit Club and coached 4H Shooting Sports for many years. She also graciously assisted and supported her family in all of their endeavors.

Tina will be remembered for her love of hunting, fishing and sewing. She also enjoyed living on the farm where she enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and was able to raise her sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits and a whole host of other animals that has turned into her own personal zoo.

Thankful for having shared her life are her husband Michael and two sons: Bradley and Luke Dangel, all of Lake Andes; and father Walter Schaffer of Mound City.

Tina was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Schaffer on August 22, 2011; two angel babies; and grandparents: Dell and Cecelia Hall of Aberdeen and Willie and Erna Schaffer of Eureka.
