VAUGHN E. ARPAN

Vaughn Arpan died Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Advena Living on Tenth in Topeka, KS. Funeral services were Wednesday, December 10 at the YST South Gym, with military honors. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
Vaughn “Schmeek” Elroy Arpan was born April 13, 1955, to Rudy Arpan Sr. and Amanda (Frederick) Arpan in Wagner, where he spent majority of his life. As he got older, he decided to acquire his GED and enter the Army, where he was honorably discharged. Throughout the next several years, he welcomed his four children. Vaughn was known for working many odd jobs as a handyman and loved the carpentry trade. He was also known for dabbling in mechanics. When he wasn’t working or wandering around saying hello’s, you could catch him at the various fast pitch softball games and tournaments around the area or hunting and fishing with his older brothers. One thing that can be said with confidence is that he was a socialite. He was always up for a visit. There was also a spiritual side to him, and he was a part of the Episcopal Church where he volunteered as a Groundskeeper.
Vaughn “Schmeek” is survived in death by four children: Vonda-Lee Faith of Sioux City, IA, Francis Arpan of Sioux City, IA, Jennifer Arpan (Josh Merriman) of Pierre, Walter Jandreau of Pekin, IL, and Vonessa Arpan (Lance McAfee) of Horton, KS; and ten grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister Sandra Sully of Wagner; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rudy and Amanda, and his siblings: Daryl Arpan, Rudy Arpan Jr, and Margo Hernandez. He was also preceded by his beloved niece and nephews, Beth Sully, Apollo Arpan, and Brandon Arpan.
