Arnold Horner, 89, of Wagner, died Thursday, March 27 at Lake Andes Senior Living. Funeral services will be 2 PM, Friday, April 4 at the United Methodist Church in Wagner. Burial will be in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner, with military honors. Visitation will be Thursday, April 3 at the church.

Clara Rose Kafka, 89, of Wagner, died Friday, March 28 at Good Samaritan Society in Tyndall, SD. Funeral mass will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, April 3 at Assumption Catholic Church in Dante. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Dante.

Colleen Marie Youngbluth of Elberta, Alabama died Thursday January 16, at the Baldwin Medical Center in Foley, Alabama. Colleen was born on December 12, 1940 to John and Velda Welch in Elk Point and grew up in Lake Andes.

Funeral services for Keith LeClaire, 64, of Ravinia were held Friday, March 21 at the White Swan Community Center in Lake Andes. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, Greenwood. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Vernon Frandsen was born on July 24, 1956 in Wagner, SD to Alyce and Ejner Frandsen. He joined his 4 years older sister Pam as their second child. They were joined 4 years later by another brother Bruce to round out the family with 3 siblings.

Kim Wayne Joseph Hakl, born August 21, 1953, peacefully passed away at his home on February 21 in Tripp. Kim was a son to Richard and Delores Hakl of Lake Andes. He attended Lake Andes public school K-12 and graduated with the Class of 1972.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret (Peggy) Melmer, on January 29, 2025, in Mitchell, South Dakota, at the age of 90. A Celebration of Life for Peggy will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 1-5 at her home, 314 S. Wisconsin, Mitchell, SD 57301.

Memorial services for Shirley Masteller, 80, of Glenham were held Monday, March 3 at the Selby Methodist Church. Shirley passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge was in charge of arrangements.

Ethel M. Berndt, age 84, of Canby, MN, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Sylvan Court Nursing Home in Canby. Memorial service was held Saturday, March 1 at the First Baptist Church in Canby with Rev. Jeff Cooper officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.

Scott was a very active member of the Wagner community. He was a member of the Lions Club, Fire Department, Rotary, Labor Day Committee, former President of the Chamber of Commerce and a big sponsor of the Wagner Wrestling Club. Work was his life.
