Josephine was born October 20, 1940 in Marty. She was the daughter of Harold and Hazel Cournoyer and was a proud member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe. She was the mother of five children, preceded in death by her son Barry Aquash and granddaughter Eva Aquash.

Robert Lee Colgan, age 76 of Springfield passed away Thursday, August 31, 2023 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Tyndall. A memorial service was held Friday, September 8 at Goglin Funeral Home in Tyndall. Inurnment, with military honors, was in the Tyndall Cemetery.

A private burial for Bruce Eckert, 67, of Ruskin FL, formerly of Avon, will be held at the Gramkow-Vesper Lutheran Cemetery, rural Avon at a later date. Bruce Wayne Eckert was born June 15, 1956 in Tyndall, to Victor and Doris (Ehresmann) Eckert.

William Wapaha Un Waokiye “Akicita” died Friday, September 1, 2023 at the V.A. Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were Wednesday, September 6 at the American Legion Hall in Wagner. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood, with military honors.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 9 at the YST South Gym in Wagner. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements. John Bernard Feather Jr. was born October 26, 1956 in Wagner to John Bernard Feather Sr. and Elizabeth Ramona Raymond who both reside in Marty.

Kathy Bren of Centennial, CO. passed away August 30, 2023, at her home at the age of 68. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Kathy was born February 24,1955 to Joseph and Betty Bren in Wagner. She was the third child of nine.

Memorial Services for Teresa Brandt, 44, of Avon were held Thursday, August 31 at Zion Lutheran Church in Avon. Peters Funeral Chapel in Avon was in charge of arrangements. Teresa Brandt was born July 26, 1979, in Yankton. She passed away August 24, 2023 in Yankton.

Beverly Jean (Isaacson) Melmer was born August 23, 1929, and passed away August 22, 2023, just a day shy of her 94th birthday. Bev was one of four siblings born to Earl and Eva Isaacson. Bev was preceded in death by her two brothers Eldon (Hap) and Dick Isaacson and her sister Dian Madison.

Bonnie Lynn Kazena, 56, of Wagner died Sunday, August 13, 2023 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services were Wednesday, August 16 at the Greenwood Community Center in Greenwood. Burial was at the Kezena cemetery at a later date.

was there that their son Kevin was born in 1965. They then moved to Rapid City and then to Corsica in 1969. While in Corsica she worked as a teacher’s aide and at the Good Samaritan Home until 1974 when the family moved again to Pierre.
