Marcella Josephine Kirchhevel, 100, went to her heavenly home Thursday, August 10 at Sanford Health Vermillion Care Center. Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 16 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., at First Lutheran Church in Lake Andes. Arrangements by Koehn Bros.

Leona Ann Bruner, 93, went to her heavenly home Wednesday, August 9 at Edgewood Mitchell Memory Care Center from Alzheimers Disease. Funeral mass was Monday, August 14 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Geddes. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Ruth Buchholz, 86, of Tripp, died Saturday, July 29, 2023 at her home in rural Tripp. A Celebration of Ruth’s Life was held Thursday, August 3 at the Danzig Baptist Church in rural Avon. Burial was in the Danzig Baptist Cemetery, rural Avon. Peters Funeral Home in Avon was in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Jane Kostel, 89, of Wagner, were held Saturday, August 5 at the United Methodist Church in Wagner. Burial was in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Anna Soulek, 95, went to her heavenly home Friday, July 28 at Avis House in Sioux Falls. There will be a celebration of Anna and Robert's life on Saturday, August 26 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the 4-H Building in Armour. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

John Burton “JB” Weber, 91, went to his heavenly home Tuesday, August 1 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital. Memorial mass was held Saturday, August 5 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Parkston. Arrangements were by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston.

Gary LaVern Mattis, 82, passed away July 25, 2023 in Independence, Missouri. Gary was born to Bessie Hennies and Jack Mattis in Wagner during a blizzard. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church and graduated from Wagner High School in 1958.

Funeral Mass will be 10 AM, Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial is in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will at the church on Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM, followed by Rosary/Wake services at 7 PM.

Eric Flood died Monday, July 17, at his home in Uhland, Texas. Funeral services were 10 a.m., Friday, July 28, at the Marty Community Center. Burial was in St Paul’s Catholic Cemetery in Marty. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn E. Patocka was born November 4, 1922 to John and Agnes (Blaha) Pesicka. She passed away April 13, 2023 after a life well lived. Evelyn attained the age of 100 years, 4 months and 13 days.
