Katie Moke, 40, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Sunday, April 2, in her sleep at her home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at New Home Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Burial will be at New Home Cemetery in rural Davison County. Visitation was Tuesday at the church.

William “Sonny” Soulek, Lake Ades, was 84 years old when he passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Avera Sr. James Care Center in Yankton. He was a Combat Engineer in the US Army and ranked Major when he retired. He proudly served his country and is a disabled Vietnam veteran.

Leslie LaVerne Jensen, age 85, of Alpena, passed away Friday, March 17, 2023, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held Saturday, March 25 at 11:00 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church,Huron.

Joseph L. Novak, 103 years, 9 months and 8 days old, went to his heavenly home Tuesday, December 27 at the Lake Andes Healthcare Center. There will be a military graveside service on Friday, March 24 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Catholic Cemetery in Lake Andes.

Charles “Chuck” M. Odens, 81 of Forest City, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at his home. Funeral services for Chuck were held Monday, March 6, at the Forest City United Methodist Church with Pastor Les Green officiating. Burial was held in Oakland Cemetery in Forest City.

Funeral services for Darleen Crisman, 97, of wagner were Monday, March 13, at the Wagner Community Church. Burial was in the ZCBJ Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Marla Heth, 37, of Wagner, died Friday, March 3, 2023 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Wagner. Funeral services were Wednesday, March 8 at the Greenwood Community Center in Greenwood. Burial was in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cemetery.

On Thursday, February 23, 2023, Rodney Wayne Frankenstein, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 44. Rodney was born on December 18, 1978, in Wagner to Roger and Mary Frankenstein. He was married to his loving wife, Sonnie, for 14 years and raised two sons, Holden and Landon.

Private funeral services for Velda Hawley are being held at Peters Funeral Home in Wagner. Graveside services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery, Rapid City. Velda Hawley was born at Quinn on November 26, 1916 to Sam and Vada May (Farnsworth) Bloom.
