Eight swimmers are participating with the JRVL Swim Team at the 2023 AAU Junior Olympics in Des Moines, IA on July 27-30.

18 of Avon’s swimmers captured individual high point trophies at the championship meet.

On Tuesday, July 18, the Wagner Legion Post 11 baseball team took to Blue Bird Field in Tabor to begin their region tournament play against the team from Parkston. After a scoreless first inning Parkston used two hits to plate a run in the top of the 2nd inning.

Monday,July10Avon18playedintheLMVLeagueTournament in Menno. In the first round Avon played Menno. Avon got out to a fast start and scored every inning leading to a 9-0 victory. Leading hitter for Avon was Lydia Yost who had 2 singles, a double, and 2 RBI.

Wagner’s Post 11 Legion team played host to the White Caps of Platte-Geddes on Thursday, July 13, looking to avenge an earlier 7-0 loss. Carter Cournoyer was the starting pitcher for Wagner. He only went 4.

On Monday, July 10, Wagner ‘s Post 7319 14U Teener team traveled to Humboldt to partake in the Region 4A Tournament. Their first game was against West Central. West Central used two walks and two errors in the second inning to take a 2-0 lead.
