GRETSCHMANN RECEIVES ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD

The 34th annual Academic Excellence Recognition luncheon was held Monday, April 29th in Pierre. This event highlights the academic achievements of the best and brightest 1% of students throughout South Dakota from the Class of 2024.

LIBRARY NEWS

The library will be sponsoring Bingo again for Fish Days. It is scheduled at the Community Center on Main Street on Sunday, June 2nd, 1-3 p.m. Any proceeds from the Bingo will go to the supporting the snack program at the library. Bingo cards do not need a blotter, and are $.25 each.

MAGGIE IN THE MEANTIME IS COMING TO THE 605 UNITY JAM

A wide variety of music will be featured at the 4th Annual 605 Unity Jam at Wagner Lake on June 9 in Wagner. One musical group is “Maggie in the Meantime”, which is a band made up of four musicians who play fiddle, guitar, keyboards, pipes, oboe and drums.

WAGNER ELEMENTARY SPRING CONCERT

Tuesday May 7th Wagner held their Elementary Spring Concert under the direction of Austin Genzlinger. They also had an art show on display for the students to show off their talent to their families. Photography by Denelle.

Rotary News

The May 8th Wagner Rotary meeting was once again led by President Elect Jordan Weber. Pastor/Rotarian Bill Heermann gave thanks for our day and our meal and asked for guidance for all Rotarians in the Wagner Community. There were no guests present but there were four absences.

POPPY COLORING CONTEST WINNERS

Wagner Community School students recently submitted entries in the American Legion Auxiliary Wagner Greer Unit #11 poppy coloring pages and poster contest. Coloring pages were judged on how well the students followed directions, neatness and overall eye appeal.
