This week's athlete of the week is Kaydence Metzger. Kaydence is a freshman at AHS, and she plays for the Lady Pirates basketball team. Kaydence is the daughter of Bridgette Muller and Sam Metzger, and she has two siblings, Keagan and Kyzleigh.

Cody Sassaman has been involved with wrestling for nine years now. He originally wanted to join wrestling after going to a tournament to watch. Cody’s favorite part about wrestling is going to the tournaments with all his teammates.

Bon Homme 4 H HorsePower took 1st place in both Quiz Bowl and Hippology at Black Hills Stock show on Saturday, February 8th as part of their youth day activities. They had two senior hippology teams and one senior quiz bowl team.

From the Files of the Lake Andes Wave 10 YEARS AGO 2015 Andes Central Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members celebrated FCCLA week at school. JJ Cooney and Matthew Bryant presented a project, “FCCLA at the Table”.

This week’s featured Andes Central senior is Mackenzi Johanneson. Mackenzi is the daughter of Doug Johanneson and Rachel Lake. Her siblings include Dennisha, Payton, Kaylee, Wyatt, Reese and Ava.

We would like to acknowledge the seniors that have been a huge part of Andes Central and Dakota Christian basketball. These 13 seniors have dedicated so much of their time and talents throughout their high school years.

Son of Carla and Thomas Cheyenne, Jeremy Cheyenne is a senior at Wagner Community School and has enjoyed participating in basketball for the Red Raiders for the last three years. Jeremy’s advice to underclassmen would be, “stay on time with your assignments and try your best not to get behind.

Vincent is the son of Jayette and Drew Bruguier. During his high school years at Wagner Community School, Vincent has been involved in several extracurricular activities including band, chorus, and JAG. Vincent’s advice to underclassmen would be to “take the right classes.
