DO YOU REMEMBER?

10 Years Ago – 2014 Corn growing in a field south of Avon was knee high by the 4th of July. The skies lit up as the fireworks show was held at Tolsma’s Cove. Janel Tolsma did the commentary for the Minnow Races that were held at Tolsma’s Cove.

LIBRARY NEWS

Sorry for the absence of this article for the last couple of weeks. The library has been busy with summer programming and the article just got moved to the back burner. Did you know that the library has a variety of learning kits to be checked out to enjoy at home.

Chase and McKenzie Snyder competed at the National Qualifying Track Meet. Chase won the discus event in the boys 12-yearold division with a throw of 90 feet, 11 inches. McKenzie won the shot-put event in the girls eight and under division with a throw of 20 feet 6.5 inches.

VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER SPOTLIGHT - AUSTIN SCHROEDER

Austin Schroeder has been a volunteer firefighter for the Wagner Fire Department for the past 10 years. For Austin, being a firefighter is a family affair. His father, Roger Schroeder, was on the Wagner Fire Department for 27 years.

Greer Post #11 American Legion

American Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on June 20th. Commander Rados thanked the cooks for another delicious meal. Commander Rados called on Americanism Officer Don Kotab to introduce the guests in attendance.

Rotary News

July 3, 2024, marked the first meeting of the Wagner Rotary Club for their 2024-2025 year. President Becky Brunsing gave the oath of office to Jordan Weber. Weber in turn presented Brunsing with a plaque which has a gavel on it with the name and years of the outgoing president.

Yesterdays

10 Years Ago – 2014 WCS juniors and senior music students went on a trip to Branson, MO. Young Eagles Flight was hosted by the Wagner Municipal Airport. This is a program that is used to garner interest in ages 8-17 in flying.

4-H HORSE PROJECT MEMBER RESULTS

The Bon Homme-Charles Mix County 4-H Horse Show was held Tuesday, June 25th at the 7-N Arena in Springfield. Judge for the show was Kayla McMackin, Worthing.

CRAGUN'S FAMILY GOSPEL QUARTET

The Cragun's Family Gospel Quartet will be in concert on Monday evening, July 8, at 7 p.m. at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Scotland. The concert is open to the public and everyone welcome. A freewill offering will be taken for the quartet.

MENNO PIONEER OPRY TO BE HELD

The Menno Pioneer Opry will be held Friday evening, July 5, at 7 p.m. at the Menno Pioneer Heritage grounds on the north end of Main Street in Menno. The program features old time gospel and country music. No charge, the barn is handicapped accessible.
