Jack Fathke is a sophomore and has been running cross country since the 7th grade. When we asked Jack what his meet-day routine was, he replied, “I make sure I eat a wellmaintained breakfast. At meets, Jack stretches to make sure he is prepared.
Easton Sees is the new quarterback for Avon. As a freshman, Easton feels pressured to do well, and believes he’s off to a good start. His game-day routine consists of a lot of sleep, a good breakfast in the morning, and making it on the bus on time.
Rilyn Thury is a sophomore at AHS and is on the Lady Pirate Volleyball Team. Rilyn is a team captain and plays outside hitter. Rilyn’s game day routine consists of getting a good night's sleep, eating a good breakfast, and listening to pump-up music on the bus rides.
It is definitely an exciting week to be a Pirate! Homecoming is a tradition that is extra special in a small town. Our student athletes have a busy week with home volleyball games on Tuesday and Thursday and of course the football game on Friday.

Dick Padrnos, formerly of Lake Andes, was inducted into the South Dakota Basketball Hall of Fame on August 24th in Sioux Falls. Padrnos was a standout basketball player for the Lake Andes High School Eagles during the years of 1947 through 1951. He wore number 33 and was the team’s center.
It is that time of year again when the students, staff, and community rally together to celebrate Wagner Community School’s Homecoming. This year's theme is 'Summer Getaway.' With homecoming comes the election of the homecoming royalty.
Wagner Community School held their Coronation Monday evening, September 9 where Hunter Lhotak was crowned King and Presley Slaba was crowned Queen.
This year’s King candidates were Jackson Rolston, Preston McFayden and Hunter Lhotak.
