SCHOENFISH, CANDIDATE FOR RE-ELECTION TO DISTRICT 19

Kyle Schoenfish (R-Scotland) is a candidate for re-election to the South Dakota Senate from District 19, which includes Bon Homme, Hanson, Hutchinson and McCook counties, as well as the southwest precinct of Turner County.

Xochitl Rocco-Serrano is the daughter of Marison Serrano-Urenda. Xochitl's favorite thing to do is play outside, and she is most excited to make new friends. She has one sister, Zulema. Bowen Beeson is the son of Jeff and Lindsey Beeson and has two siblings, Rylan and Blaire.

AVON SCHOOL DISTRICT NEW STAFF SPOTLIGHT – KIM VAN WINKLE

The Avon School District welcomed a new second grade teacher this 2024-2025 school year, Kim Van Winkle. This is Kim’s sixth year of teaching having previously taught K-8th grade for the colony and most recently preschool at Wagner. Kim originally grew up on a farm near Dante.

IVORY TO TAKE CENTER STAGE IN AVON

The Avon Park Festival will feature legendary rock and roll band, Ivory on Wednesday, September 4th from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Avon City Park. In addition to Ivory, Joslynn Rose from the 24th season of “The Voice” will also perform. There will be food vendors on site.

AVON STUDENTS EXPLORE WASHINGTON D.C.

At 8:30 a.m. on Monday, July 29th, a bus picked up the 22 Avon students and 13 chaperone's to begin an adventure that they would not soon forget. The trip was to Washington D.C. After boarding the bus, it then drove the group to Minneapolis where they flew out the next day on July 30th.
