AVON PUBLIC LIBRARY MEETING MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 29TH

Meeting was called to order at 4:11 p.m. Attendance included Ilene Muller, Twila Lukkes, Mary Beth Driesen, Julie Minow, Mary Hurd, and Loretta Knodel. The minutes of last meeting (08/23/23) were read by Julie Minow.

AVON ELEMENTARY CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Music filled the Avon Gym Thursday night, December 7 as the Avon Elementary Christmas Concert was presented under the direction of Autumn Schultz. Pictured above is grades Kindergarten through fifth grade grand finale. Photo to left is the Preschool class.

URINALYSIS IN PATIENT CARE

Urinalysis, or testing of the urine, has ancient origins dating back to the time of Hippocrates and beyond.

ANDES CENTRAL MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Andes Central Middle School and High School presented their Christmas Concert December 7th under the direction of Julie Rysavy. The concert choir sung 'Heaven Everywhere', 'On a Silent Night, Long, Long Ago' and 'Holly Jolly Christmas'.

ROSS CIMPL - DWU INTERIM ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

Dakota Wesleyan University (DWU) officially named Ross Cimpl Interim Athletic Director Friday, December 1st. Cimpl will hold this position until May of2024, giving the university the spring to campaign to find a new full time athletic director. Cimpl was born and raised in Wagner.

HOLI DAY HAYRI DE

The Wagner Pool Fundraising team hosted a holiday hayride event this past Sunday, December 10th. The event not only had hayrides, but also had vendors, games, Santa’s helpers, soup and refreshments. Kokesh Farms provided the hayrides around Wagner. The soup and drinks were provided by Midtowne.

PRESCHOOLERS TAKE PART IN SCHOLASTIC PAJAMA DRIVE

The Avon Preschool class took part in Scholastic's pajama drive recently! They collected 30 pairs of pajamas that will go to a nearby shelter and were so excited to help kids who don't have any pajamas!

'A DATE THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY'

December 7, 1941 is a “date that will live in infamy” as stated by President Theodore Roosevelt in his famous speech after the events of the Pearl Harbor bombing. That event let to the United States involvement in World War II.
