ANDES CENTRAL JAG INITIATION AND INSTALLMENT CEREMONY 2023

On September 15th, Andes Central had its first ever JAG Initiation and Installment Ceremony. JAG stands for Jobs For America’s Graduates and its mission is to empower the nation’s young people with the skills and support to succeed in education, employment and life. SWIM TEAM HOLDS TAILGATE FUNDRAISER

The Avon Swim team held a Football Tailgate supper Friday, September 8th from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. before the Avon vs. Gayville -Volin home football game. They served walking tacos, homemade desserts and drinks. It was a free-will donation.

Fall is the polishing time. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. For some reason, the spirit that guides us made our experiences in fall the peak of the year’s efforts. For animals, both wild and domestic, it is the rut, the breeding time. The bulls and bucks have never looked better.

The Siouxland Women’s Magazine is a monthly publication that features local human-interest articles and stories featuring beauty, family and fashion. The September 2023 issue features an interview with local Avon artist, Johnny Swatek. He is the September issue’s featured artist.

HS JAG STUDENTS CELEBRATE NATIONAL READ A BOOK DAY AT LA SENIOR LIVING

Eleven high school JAG students read with residents at Lake Andes Senior Living on September 6 to celebrate National Read a Book Day. Debbie White, activities director at Lake Andes Senior Living, invited students to spend time with residents for their morning activity.
