It was an exciting week in the area as Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s National Walleye Tour was held on Lake Francis Case in Pickstown on Thursday and Friday. Taking the win with a final weight of 27.

ALLYSON HAMILTON NAMED TO DWU SPRING DEAN’S LIST

MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University recently released its spring 2023 dean’s list which includes 299 university students. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 on a four-point scale.

PETRIK FIREFIGHTERS TAKE HOME THE WIN FOR THE 2ND YEAR

Volunteers from the Avon Fire Department traveled to Watertown this past weekend to attend Fire School and competed in the annual Water-fight where the Petrik family redeemed their title, taking the win for the second year.

COACH CULVER STEPS DOWN AFTER 24 YEARS

Tom Culver grew up in Alexandra, South Dakota but has been a staple in Avon for many years. He just wrapped up his 24th year with the Avon School District where he has led as an administrator in the school halls and also as a coach on the high school football field.
