Letter to the Editor

I recently attended meetings inDanteandWagner.The meetings were held to see how much support there is for the the R&T Project (very little). The engineer of the R&T and the spokesman from law firm in Wisconsin accepted my offer to give them a tour from Dante to five miles east of Avon.

The phone rang, and I answered it because the call was from a nearby community. No big surprise that the caller was obviously not from anywhere near, and the caller was asking for a donation for some organization in which I had no interest. I said, in a kindly tone, “No thank you,” and hung up.

ATHLETE OF THE WEEK BASKETBALL

Braylon Fathke, a sophomore, is a guard on the AHS basketball team. He has been playing basketball for eight years. When Braylon has a game, it is tradition for him to eat a frosted honey bun and sour gummy eggs. Braylon also listens to Again by Fetty Wap to hype him up.

Landon Glenn Mudder was born on September 7th, 2006 to Larry Mudder and Brenda Halverson. He has four sisters: Diandra, Karlin, Marissa and Madilyn. Landon’s hobbies include playing sports and hanging out with friends. His favorite subject is shop because he gets to build projects.

Gunnar Lee Voigt was born on March 24, 2007. Gunnar’s family members are Tiffany Voigt (Mom) and Bradley Voigt (Dad), Gunnar has two brothers, Viktor Voigt and Greger Voigt. His favorite hobby is weightlifting.

Hunter Loeffler This week’s featured Andes Central Senior is Hunter Loeffler. Hunter is the son of Tootie and Chad Loeffler. Hunter has one sibling, Ruger. During his high school years, Hunter has been involved in football, basketball, track, baseball, JAG and FFA.

Veteran of the Month: Dennis Rucker

DennisRuckerisbeinghonored as Lake Andes’ March Veteran of the Month. Not only is Rucker a Vietnam War Veteran, but he also served during Operation Desert Storm. Rucker enlisted in the Army on January 30, 1969 when he was 18 years old.

MISSOURI VALLEY REGIONAL SPELLING BEE

There are six schools that are a part of the Missouri Valley Regional Spelling Bee including Andes Central, Burke, Dakota Christian, Gregory, Platte-Geddes and South Central. Every year the regional spelling bee is held at a different school’s location.

IT IS TIME TO RESET

Living on a ranch, I’ve never had much time for technology. I’ve always preferred riding a horse over online entertainment, and at work, I stick to the traditional pen-and-paper approach. However, I do rely on my phone daily.
