Well, we’re in the home stretch as they say, with two weeks left in the Session and most of the work behind us. We still have the budget to finalize but talking to our Appropriators it sounds like things are coming together and we should be able to pass a balanced budget by the end of Session.

As you know since I started writing these reports to you folks, my weeks have always ended on Thursday so that I could write this article and have it to your newspaper people before 5:00 on Friday. So today I get to start my weekly report with what happened last Friday.

AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY ESSAY CONTEST WINNERS

The American Legion Auxiliary held their annual Americanism Essay and Poetry Contests this year. The Americanism Essay’s theme was “What America the Beautiful Means to Me” and the Americanism poetry contest was “Honor Our Heros”.

GETTING TO KNOW YOUR WAGNER FFA OFFICERS

This year National FFA Week is celebrated on February 15th – February 22nd. It is a week where chapters share with their school peers what FFA is and the role that FFA plays in members’ everyday lives.
