One of the more recent topics that seems to be coming up in conversations around town is the rising costs of eggs. H5N1 also known as the bird f lu is the main source of what is causing the price of eggs to skyrocket.

FROM THE 10 YEARS AGO 2015 The Wagner-Bon Homme gymnastics team participated in the Team Day Competition at State Championships and came home with 2nd place. Ben Soukup, Trevor Lensing and Truman Ashes advanced to the State Wrestling Tournament.

Greer Post #11 American Legion

American Legion Greer Post #11 held its monthly meeting on February 20 with 28 Legion members and four SOL members in attendance. Commander Rados thanked the cooks for a delicious meal. We also had Jon Strather in attendance who will be a transfer to our Post.

ADDISON CUKA AND DUSTI LASKA SHINE AT STATE

Addison Cuka and Dusti Laska competed at State Gymnastics on Saturday, February 16th in Watertown. Addison Cuka competed on the floor individual day. After following her teammate to each event, Addison’s turn came at the end of the day. She completed her routine with power and grace.

Legislative Update

We are passed the halfway point of the legislative session. One of the most publicized bills of the sessions was SB 51 which required the display and teaching of the Ten Commandments.

The Avon Chamber of Commerce held their election of officers at their monthly meeting held Monday evening, February 10th. There are currently 28 full members and three associate members of the Avon Chamber.
